Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, Castleton

Visited today - this pub looked lovely from the outside and we were greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. The Chatsworth Gold beer was very good, so we decided to stay for a meal - big mistake! We opted for a sunday roast at �8.95 - I have never been presented with such a poor meal, nothing on the plate was cooked freshly today, the boiled parsnips and carrots had obviously been cooked a day ago and then microwaved to the point they were collapsing, the 'roast' potatoes were fried and the mash was inedible. The gravy was the most horrid instant stuff. We were scoping out venues for a long weekend with mates, but will definitely not be staying here.
Good beer, but the food is a risk!
