The Coombe Cellars Devon, Coombe in Teignhead
we have been in the Coombe Cellars on a number of occasions and have visit once since i was takin over, the decor is lovely but the menu is very limited and the place is not at all child friendly we were informed by the staff that the palce was no longer child friendly but child tollerant, what a disgrace.
there were five of us in our party and 2 of us had the Plaice and scampi goujons which came with a tiny bowl of fries and a bit of lettuce, one had the sausage and mash with onion marmalade, you could see at least 3 strips of onion , one had a chicken and stuffing on soda bread and ordered fries on the side, the portion of fries were a little bigger but the menu did not state it was an open sandwich and there was no top! the other party had just fries and rustic breadm the rustic bread was 2.50 and was just 4 chunks of crusty bread, we were shocked to say the least, the place is probably wanting to attract a more decerning customer with its fancier menu and I hope they get it but we will never go again and I warn families there is no menu for kids so to speak.
The prices are high too and porions very small.
