The Parson Woodforde, Weston Longville

We were very disappointed. The starters wers said to be good by those who had them but the main course was a disappointment. Hand Carved Ham, eggs and hand cut chips turned out to be a smmal slice of smoked gammon steak - not hand carved ham and the cips were cold. The steak and kidney pudding, although apparently tasted ok was a suet crust pastry pie - it had been baked not steamed and the hot pot was runny and the cheese scone overdone - no potoatoes on the top so not really a hot pot! The desserts were well presented. We advised the waitress that the gammon was not as ordered and the recipient did not like smoked gammon either - she took it away and asked if she could get anything else but was declined but when the bill presented it had been charged for and was grudgingly refunded when attention drawn to this. Food served should be as described on the menu - not the chefs interpretation of the dish!
The turkey, ham and apricot pie was very good.
