The Blacksmiths Arms, Adversane

on a recent trip to worthing we stopped at the blacksmiths arms for lunch,upon entering we were met with a very warm welcome by both the manager and the landlady,we were offered a wide range of drinks to choose from and shown 2 menus that were in operation,we decided to go for the carvery menu which seemed quiet nice,the manager showed us to our table and explained the menu,a very polite young waitress then came and took our order and we then waited for our food,,the restaurant was beautifuly decorated and was very clean and tidy,but then the problems startted,,,after we placed our order a fairly rough looking chef or cook entered the restaurant and passed a comment to the terms of,do we have to get all the fat ones in here to eat,we were going to leave but decided to stay as we were hungry,when the chef came out to serve the carvery he was rough looking covered in tattoos and very unfriendly unlike the other members of staff,
the food was excellent and the service and friendliness from the landlady,manager and waitress was top class but our stop was tainted by the rude chef and his attitude,even after these comments we will stop in again as we travel that stretch of road every week,but we will make our dissatisfaction with the chef known,
