I think Dan, the new landlord is a very lovely guy with good intentions but i think, sadly that the regulars are slipping away from him. When Andy was there he was very front of house, most people knew him and when people got out of hand he would go and have a quiet word. I have been a few times recently when people, loud and aggressive drunks have just been allowed to dominate. Last Sunday for example, the pub quiz used to be packed - difficult to get a table - this week there were only 6 teams and it was thoroughly irritating to have to share the pub with one particular drunk who spent most of the time hassling the woman reading the questions. There is a hostile atmosphere here now in the evenings, and where once it was a pub that i would go into on my own and wait for friends...now i would not. It's a shame, the old buzz has gone and I'm not sure what to suggest to Dan apart from that he stop being quite so nice and act like a landlord with standards and ask people like this to leave or behave. I just hope it's not too late to get some of those regulars back, we are all talking about ditching the tup for GJ's...it's a shame.
