The Shepherds House, Moss End

This pub has good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and polite waiting staff.

However, is it totally ruined by the rude and unprofessional owners who on several occassions have amazed us with their approach at 'customer service'.

Everything seems to be a hassle, and it genuinely seems as though they don't want customers in their restaurant. It's so bad, it's almost funny.

On one occasion, when innocently asking a waiter if they had a table to sit the Eight of us, we were barked at by the landlord that we'd "just have to wait".

After waiting for our food for nearly two hours one evening, and eventually enquiring about it - we were very abruptly told by the landlady that "we were told it was going to take a while" - which we weren't.

It's a shame, as it would be a pleasant venue. If you can stand the Adams family who own it (or just manage to avoid them) - it's worth a try.

A couple of other things, you can't book a table, or run a tab - meaning you have to 'pay as you go' - which is annoying. This also means that if there's a group of you, you may want to place seperate orders when paying - which in turn results in people getting their meals at different times. Crazy.
