The Chequers, Hendon

i visited tis pub today and found out about the fence it was put there to protect the many children and their families enjoying the rare sunshine i think the staff and management should be applauded for putting the safety of the customers first, i was also greatly surprised to see they are now serving excellent fresh home cooked english food i had the cheeseburger which i must admit was to die for i wish them all the luck for the future it is great to see a traditional pub flourishing well done

after reading the last comment i felt i had to say something , i am a regular of the chequers and yes i must agree with one of his comments the toilets did stink but the problem was with the drains not the pub and the manager dealt with the problem very quickly, as for the 3 mangy cats what a load of twadle i have never seen such well cared for cats and 99% of the customers love the fact they are there as it shows what a safe and friendly pub it is. with the troubled times we are going through i feel that the chequers is one of the few pubs that is really trying by doing various things most nights i.e quiz on tuesday poker on thursday disco or karaoke on saturday and all major sport shown, as for his comment on the real ale amybe this is true im not sure as i dont drink it but the chequers has mainly youngish customers and i can confirm the choice of lagers ans spirits are great at a reasonible price. finally please dont take any notice of the last comment come and experience the pub for yourself and be prepared to have a great time.
