The Sir John Barleycorn, Cadnam

Had the misfortune of eating here for my birthday last week. The service was dreadful, not only was it indifferent, I was ingnored 3 times at the bar and they were not even busy.
I ordered a salad at �8.95 as a starter and it was so small I think there were about 3 lettuce leaves. I complained and they did bring me a bigger portion, but not happily.
We had to find our own cutlery for every course, the service was appalling. I paid �18 for steak and was not asked if I wanted sauces, when I eventually found them, they were in sachets similar to those found in a motorway service station - appalling.
The whole evening was a complete let down, the decor is lovely but the people who work there do not go out of their way to give good service - a smile would have been nice or any interest in how your food was would have been refreshing. They are charging very high prices and not giving any where near a good enough service.
I would never go here again and felt so strongly I have had to leave a review. There are many better places to spend your money. The night before I ate in Hotel Terravina not far away and paid the same price for a much better level of service and food to die for.
