The Hawkley Inn, Hawkley

Utterly brilliant if you want a real pub. I went with several friends and a dog. We tried all seven beers, all seven ciders, most of the menu and the dogs water bowl. It seems the original landlord is back and the fire is roaring again. We had Cheriton Porter, Dark Star Hophead, Bowmans Wallops Wood and Quiver, Ballards Nyewood Gold and Hopback Summer Lightning and Angus Whitheads ciders which were Cirrus Minor, Newtons Discovery, Russet at 7.5%! and a Blackberry one and a Perry. All the beers and the cider were spot on and the food was really good. We had Burgers, Faggotts and mash, a lamb shank and an amazing steak and kidney pudding. I will be back again and again.

The Devonshire Arms, Kensington

I cannot find a better pub in West London. I like well kept real ales, I like decent well sourced and well served pub food and I adore great, attentive service. Here it is. All the staff are very good and do really well even when it is busy as it almost always is. Iana is exceptional though. Great food, marvellous beers both real and foreign and in my experience truly exceptional service in an old fashioned yet not London pub.

The Noahs Ark Inn, Lurgashall

Scrumptious Ruddles Hedgrow on a chilly autumn evening sitting 'inside' their magnificent fireplace complete with crackling log fire. Was so comfortable had to stay and eat and had exceptionally good food. English snails were amazing and Turbot and chips completed a brilliant pub experience. Thoroughly recommend for a quick pint, a bite to eat or dining out in style. This place has it all.
