I am laughing at what livelyjoe has to say about the Dun-a-ri, because it is mostly true, but it is probably the greatest pub in the entire world for those very same reasons. I virtually lived at this pub last spring as I lived around the corner and the place was more a home than my flat. The staff are lovely and and quick! despite what some of the comments say. The bouncers are wonderful and have always made me feel perfectly safe as a woman alone. And yes it is filled with a dodgy sort but that's what gives it its charm and character. The Guinness is cheap and not terrible for London, and if you order it enough they'll have it poured for you before you even step in the door. The builders are lovely for a chat even if they are trying to take you home. There is always someone interesting to talk to, and always some even more interesting people to entertain you. (Watch out for a very tall lumberjack-like man in flannel who always looks miserable and falls asleep in the corner by the door with his pint) And karaoke on Wednesday nights is always good for a laugh. It's great in the spring time to sit outside and enjoy the local flavour of King's Cross..ha. Seriously if you are looking for a true locals pub with all the grime and dodginess king's cross has to offer, this is the place for you...If you're looking for some posh kensington shite then stay home, we don't want you anyway!
