The North Star, Ealing

I hadnt been in here for quite a while so popped in last night for a couple of beers after work after hearing about the refit.

It looks like the place is more a American Bar/Diner than pub, which is not a bad thing, and the food comming out looked good. However I ordered a pint of Adnams which was dead and very "tangy", so backed that and replaced with a pint of Breakspear which was also dead which i again backed, which like the ale didnt do down too well with the barstaff. Finally settled with a pint of Becks as the ale is obviously not cared for.

If yor not an ale person then this is probaly a great pub, but i wont be going back in a hurry as there are much better ale pubs in the area.

The New Inn, Ealing

Hadn't been here for a while so decided to give it a try.... And I can say that I won't be bothering for a while again.

Very expensive..... Even for ealing prices.... Paid £4.55 for a pint of Heineken which was ok at best. My friend was on the ale and said the the King John was ok but nothing to shout about and the pride was "rank".

To be honest I would avoid as there are a lot better (and cheaper) pubs in less than staggering distance (Castle and the rose and crown).

Shockingly Expensive for poor beer and crap service. Avoid.
