The Windsor Castle Inn, Lye

We'd popped in on a Saturday night for a drink while waiting for our table at a nearby indian restaurant, food looked at smelt gorgeous so we decided to book a table for 9 people for Mother's Day March 2008. Firstly had problems parking, we were worried about getting clamped by the restaurant next door so that was a bit frustrating. You had an option of a set 2 courses for just under �15 or you could have 3 for just under �19 which we thought was quite reasonable, they had crammed as many people in as possible in the seating areas so once you were sat at your table you couldn't get out without a struggle!! Starter came out which everyone agreed was lovley, but then it all went downhill when the mains came out, the first ones to come out were cold so had to be sent back, most of the lamb & beef dishes were full of fat & i ended up leaving most of my meat or should i say most of my lamb fat!! (roast potato's were lovely though!) veggies weren't cooked properly, not enough potato's & there was no extra gravy brought out to our table, a couple of our party decided to bring it to the attention of the bar manager who was very nice about it all, but it was when the chef came out & over heard the conversation, he decided to get involved & was quite rude to some of our party, which then resulted to the chef going back to the kitchen & calling us all a bunch of w*****s to his colleagues!!!! Now i'm pretty sure that this isn't some kind of kitchen slang.
By now our Mothers Day was ruined so we decided to leave our desserts & leave the Windsor Castle pub with a very bad taste in our mouth. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone & we certainly won't ever be going back there.
