The food in this pub is a triumph of QUANTITY far exceeding QUALITY. The manager/ chefs seem to be of the opinion that if you give customers huge plates with far too much on them they will thinik what great value it is and recommend to friends. I wasn't. I went recently for sunday lunch and ordered the beef. The plate was stacked high with food but barely any of it edible. Dry fatty beef, undercooked "roast" potatoes that tasted like they had been roasted in water and gravy that had the smell and consistency of winalot prime! Upon taking it back i was given a different choice of meal. Equally awful! Huge helpings, but whats the point if you can't eat any of it? On the plus side the beer garden is secluded but useually reserved for diners, and the beer and wine is good value for money.If you want quality food however, try the pub up the road. Its more expensive but at least you can eat it!
