The Britannia Inn, Elterwater

Another excellent Lakeland pub, with a good selection of ales always on, and very good food. Always busy in peak season, but always a treat to eat and drink after walking over Loughrigg Fell from Ambleside.

Soup and chips sat outside on New Year's day can't be beaten!

Horse and Farrier Inn, Threlkeld

Great food, great beer. Well worth visiting, whether you've made it up Blencathra or not.

We've been for food at lunchtime (excellent big baguettes) and in the evening (massive Cumberland sausage!)

Several good Jennings ales always on as well as other guests. Cracking pub!
