The Sun, Carshalton

The Sun, Carshalton, fits in so well to the lovely village feel to the Carshalton Ponds area. It compliments the 'feel' and style of the village and is a very relaxed pub to spend time in.
They always have at least 3 individual ales on sale as well as the usual stock, and the bar staff are happy to allow you to sample an ale before you purchase.
The food is AMAZING! Portions are huge, however, so no need to order 2 or 3 course meal as you'll never get through it all!
The Tuesday quiz nights are open to everyone - there are some dedicated teams but also teams of folk who are out to have fun that evening - its always packed out!
Along with supper club nights and acoustic evenings, the Sun is a fantastic place to sit and chat to friends, to have a long, relaxed supper / lunch. My favourite pub!
Well behaved dogs are also welcome - they always get very loved by staff and clients alike.
My favourite area is the decking outside - we don't smoke, but love to sit out at night in the covered, twinkly and candle lit decking area with its low seating and mosaic tables - this has a magical atmosphere of its own!
My one suggestion to this pub is to develop the 'family area' - the majority of the pub is a warm yellow - then there is this cold, blue room at the end which is very uninviting - Whoever put that magic touch on the outside area, then surely you could transform the 'blue' room into a warm and inviting area too??? That is my only critique - get the paint out!!!!
Apart from that - GREAT PUB! AND GREAT JOB TO ALL WHO WORK THERE! you've brought some homeliness to the Carshalton Public House scene!!!!
