Victoria Inn, Salcombe

Since we took over the Victoria Inn some 8 months ago we have grown the business and feedback had been brilliant. We open our upstairs restaurant when bookings demand it - and as this visit would appear to have been at Easter that would have been the reason - and although it may have looked quiet - we were in fact almost fully booked every day of the Easter break.

I'm sorry that Queenelly didn't enjoy her visit to us. The Chowder is one of our biggest sellers - in fact customers come to us particularly for this dish, so I'm sorry if she or her party didn't enjoy it. I am also most surprised that Queenelly found service to be lacking as we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. On the rare occasions that there is ever a query on the quality of food or any other aspect of service delivery, I or my Manager always speak to the customer personally and try to resolve to everyones satisfaction.

The Golden Lion, Winchester

Went back in to this pub the other evening - it continues to get better and better!! There are two things you must try - the real ales which are kept so excellentlt and the home cooked Ham, Egg and Chips - FANTASTIC!!! My friend had house white wine reccomended to her - a South African - chilled to the right temperature, lovely large (Friendly!) glasses and home cooked lasagne. Terrific value for money and very friendly customers AND staff.
