The Old Farmhouse, Nailsea

I visited The Old Farmhouse for lunch after reading the positive reviews on this site and good word of mouth... there were eight people in the whole pub including ourselves we both had the spinach & ricotta cannelloni for �7.95 - the menu didn't state that it came with anything so we asked at the bar if it came with a salad and the answer was yes. The meals came out 35 minutes later despite the fact that the only other food order on was a table of four!! Not only this but the 'salad' that we were told came with the cannelloni turned out to be three leaves of lettuce & three croutons!! We would have happily paid an extra �2.00 for a salad if necessary but we were disappointed with the sorry excuse of a 'meal' we received for �8.00! Not overally impressed!

The Failand Inn, Failand

Visited the Failand one lunchtime last week, completely unimpressed with firstly the gum chewing rude girl behind the bar who seemed to care more about who she was texting on her phone than serving us.

We sat down and looked in horror at the menu prices... we are by no means poor but will refuse to pay �7.00 for the cheapest jacket potato - how can anywhere in this day and age get away with scandelous pricing like this?

When we did decide to order food the barmaid was nowhere insight, we left hungry and �7.00 richer!

The Star Inn, Tickenham

I beg to differ with the comments below, my visit to The Star Inn was thoroughly enjoyable - great food, great beet, friendly staff. The refurb may not be to everybodies taste due to the fact that it lacks 'tradition' but we can't all live in the past, places are becoming more and more modern - cabot circus...the refurbed bar in clevedon for example, which I find far too modern myself.
Give it another go, the food now is magnificent.
