The Rose and Crown, Southwark

I found this pub by accident way back in Feb 06, & have started going as often as I can.
Its run by a cheery fella called Nick who does a wonderful job, & is up for a chat whenever he's not behind the bar or busy serving.
His staff are all a great laugh too (A sign in my books that they have fun doing their job!).
It is a lively pub with a most of the patrons being regulars or Locals. They have to be one of the friendliest (& funniest) bunch in London, accepting me quickly without a bad word!

Drinks;
They serve three ales, Pride, Youngs & IPA.
There are 3 Extra Cold beers on tap, Fast Flow Carling (6sec pint), Fosters & Kronenberg. They aslo sell Stella.
They pore a mean Guinness, John Smiths & Strongbow.
Their selection of bottled drinks are Magners & Bulmers for cider, Carona, Becks, Bud, Carlsberg & Holsten Pils for beer, B'Beezers & WKDs, and water & J2O for the Drivers.
They also serve the normal Spirits and mixers with a good selection of fine wines, Red and White.

Food;
The Thai food is exceptionally good, with large tasty portions that'l only set you back a fiver at the most! Lunch times during the week can get a bit hectic as the office crowds fill up the pub for lunch. From 1200ish to 1400 its busy, but the food comes fast so you never have to wait long if your hungry.

Entertainment;
Friday & saturday nights are nearly always a blast, as the pub hires a singer on friday night, and has karaoke on Saturday!
The pub has 2 Bandits, a pool table that is'nt hogged, & a Jukebox which has up to date music as well as the classic's.
There is a big screen that is only really on when its quite or when there is sufficent demand to show a big footy or rugby game. When a game is on, the pub is rarely chocablock with people, and the volume is low enough to still have a conversation.

If you get the chance to go, make sure you try the food. Its served from 1100am until 1900hrs monday to friday.
This pub has a good atmosphere, and you may well find yourself staying later than you planned.
