The Matt and Matt Bar, Islington

This is generally a nice little venue with good DJs. Unfortunately, you can't be sure of getting in. In the past I've turned up and found it completely shut during the week when it was advertised as open. I've also found it closed for a private party. And then there's the cover charge. So, good potential but could do better.

The Four Sisters, Islington

Nice little bar, this. And there aren't many in Islington you can say that about. Good atmosphere, comfortable if you can get a seat, and food's OK for snacks.

The Prince Bonaparte, Westbourne Grove

Good pub. Nice atmosphere. Attentive bar staff. Food pretty good. And plenty of seating at the rear if you are eating.
