The George Tavern, Stepney

I'd agree with the posts below. Its a really bad pub. It sells the worst wine I have ever, ever tasted. A friend took a glass back and said 'that isn't wine, thats port'. They misheard and said 'it can't be corked, its screw topped'. As if screw topped was the ultimate sign of quality control.

It isn't even good on its own terms. That is to say I've got nothing against a scruffy pub for artists and musicians, but as a musician who played there, it has rubbish sound equipment, lazy , stupid sound staff. And some really rubbish local 'poets' who do poems about Henry the 8th where every two lines rhyme like a year 7 child.

I really do think that everyone working in there was a bit 'simple'.
