The Rat and Parrot, Crawley

I would not normally bother writing a comment on these sites, but feel tat this pub is was so appauling i ha dto write.
I went on friday night for the first and last time.
Not only was the pub dirty and unclean, the barstaff were rude, inept and completely unsuitable for working with customers (not just one but three different ones!)
1/ Firstly we were kept waiting for 10 mins to get served whilst the first barmaid served and chatted to all her friends, ignoring other customers.
2/ at 10 to 11 I went to get berr and two shorts, only to be told 'they didnt have any glasses for shorts!! This is a pub for christs sake?? then thinking what else to get was told to 'hurry up, theres other people waiting'! the sheer rudeness and attidue was beyond belief. Maybe if some of the barstaff had been working and cleaqring glasses from the dirty tables there may well have been some glasses.
3/ following this i went to the bar upstairs to try and get the drinks i wanted and was greted by a barstaff sucking a lollipop (no prob with that). However after asking for my drinks i could only understand her response, on the third attempt when she decided she could be bothered to remve the lollipop from her mouth!

all the others i could live with and wouldnt expect anything less from such a pub in Crawley, but the final straw had to be the thick, neanderthal bouncer, who, clearly had not been on a customer awareness training course, and was unable to string more than three words together without using the words *unt, fu*kers, f*cking wa*kers etc.
happy to take your money off you at 2 mins to 11 for more drink, the lights come on and evryone is hearded to the door by 5 past.
Knowing this was coming we preempted the move and went dowwn to the door.
We were out the pub byy 10 past!!! following a wholely unacceptable torrent of abuse from the bouncer for absolutely nothhing. whilst trying to reason with him, asking if we could stay at least until 20 past (legal drinking up time) to finnish our drinks, we were told to f*ck off, get out you w*nkers etc.
whilst i accept bouncers have a job to do in clearing the pub and sometimes may get a bit of resistance, the way this guy treated us - paying customers, was completely disproportionate, and i have rarely been so offended for doing nothing in my life.
This guy shoul dlose his job and he clearly cannot and doesnot know how to deal with customers.

Ok rant over, feel better now, but needless to say, the sooner pubs and people running them close down the better for normal drinking custoomers, like you and me!
