Avoid. A once solid, traditonal pub in leafy west Greenwich has been turned into a chavs' den. Current landlord has installed THREE Tvs - two of them poor qulity - to show non-stop football, which attracts a rough crowd. Impossible to have a quiet drink - there is even a televison above the front door. Elvis nights and kareoke have also been introduced...what next next? Strippers! Place is dead and empty when there's no footie on. No cooked food in evenings or at weekends. Older bar staff are also unfriendly. Much more welcoming, and with genial, civilised regulars, are the Greenwich Union and Richard 1 just yards away.

This pub failed its hygiene inspection by Greenwich Council in Jan 2009.
