The Kings Arms, Waterloo

Went in on the off chance because I was trying to find somewhere else in Waterloo -surprised it was not very busy for a lunchtime. Good location for station. But comments about bar staff are true - the barman relieved me of �6:90 for three halves of Doom bar but the beer was good and the right temperature. Told there was no food that day despite chalkboards everywhere promoting it. There was an office type (suit and tie) enquiring about the use of the function room for a leaving party and the guy behind the bar was just plain dismissive when he discovered that there were only going to be 20-30 in the party - presumably they were only going to drink tapwater!
The Creature behind the bar had a mouth like a cats ar*e and said the best bet was to take over the small bar at the side which would encourage other punters to move away. in summary the bar staff need a charm transplant and the cost of beer needs a review -downwards but if you want agood pint and dontlike crowds its ok
