Moon On The Hill, Harrow
Recently moved into the Harrow area, and i fancied a few beers. I saw a Wetherspoon, and knowing that they do real ales, i gave it a go. I have to say i was very impressed. As i went in, i noticed they had decorated the pub in balloons and streamers, for their current beer festival. As it was a lovely hot day outside, they had also opened all their doors and big slidling windows, so there was a lovely breeze running throughout the pub. There was a lively, cheerey atmosphere inside, even during the lunch period. I did wait a while to be served, but as i said, it was pretty busy, so one expects to wait a minute or so. When i was served however it was by a bubbly smiling young girl, who was eager to sell me a particular beer from the beer festival. So naturally i obliged, and it was a gorgeous pint. The young Barwoman thus proceeded to explain to me that The Moon On The Hill, as is the name of this particular establishment, is also in the CAMRA 2009 Good Beer Guide! I thanked the young lady and took a seat on a well positioned sofa, just by the window. It seems in there, that there is a good banter between the staff and the customers, and yet the staff manage to provide everyone with great service and make them feel at home. I couldn't help noticing a lot of people eating, and there were children in the pub too, which makes it good for families.
I have to say i have been going back ever since that visit and i thoroughly enjoy it there. Highly recommended.
