The Walmer Castle, Notting Hill

One of the best pubs in London. Lovely Thai food both downstairs and upstairs (try the number 11 on the downstairs menu), friendly staff and great music. It gets a little busy with tourists on weekends but it can't be beaten from Monday to Friday.

The Prince of Wales, Holland Park

My first impression was that this is a great pub. Big outdoor area, impressive variety of foreign beers and comfortable looking chairs. First impressions are often deceiving and the experience is downhill from here. The reasons for this being 1) the bar staff are very very rude 2) it takes at least 10mins to get served 3) staff have little knowledge of the great beer they're serving 4) the outdoor area closes at 7pm and 5)it gets so busy you never get to sit down anyway. Great potential but in the end a very dissapointing experience!
