The Chequers Inn, Oxford

We've been to this pub for several events, and have found that the staff are often grumpy, to the point that we have been growled at for not getting the food-ordering procedure correct (they changed it between visits!). The pub swelters in the summer, most of the windows do not open, and it's very noisy. The food is fairly average, with perhaps too much emphasis on high-priced sausages.
