The Clifford Arms, Shaldon

Went in recently,ordered a pint and proceeded to roll a smoke for outside like everywhere nowerdays. Was informed by jumped up little pwner that there is a no smoking policy, even in the beer garden. When asked where one can smoke whilst enjoying a pint, was instructed '100 yards up the road'. Even if the beer was good, which it wasn't I wouldn't return. Keep going that 100 yards to the Royal Standard . Better beer and better reception.
