The Sun, Richmond

Went to this pub today. I am usually a fan, not any more! I payed a fiver for chips from a barman who served but payed little attention to, me.After a long wait (over an hour) I went back to the bar intending to ask about my food , got ignored (by a new barman) so went away again (pretty sure the earlier barman was sitting on my side of the bar by now).When I went back a bit later and managed to speak to someone I got told to go back to my seat and he would come over to talk to me in a few minutes.Ten minutes later still no contact (by now I was starting to get abandonment issues!) and my friends wanting a drink I went back and was told that he had spoken to the original barman(who by now had made a sharp exit) who did not 'remember' me!When I asked what could be done ,I suggested looking at the CCTV of me handing over money (for nothing in return), I got told I would have to wait for the manager for any further discussion , with no eta and my wish to spend more wasted time ,money and breath in a unhelpful pub wanening, I left .Never to return....
So congratulations , whoever runs this 'quality' establishment, your staff are very helpful , I really appreciated being treated like someone trying it 'on' for the sake of five pounds.Clearly the age of good will , and the customer being right, are long gone!
I imagine I would have been treated better in the bad lands of Croydon......
