We like to go away for short breaks in East Anglia where we can take the dog, Reuben, and enjoy sea walks and good pubs. Living in Witham, our "local" is the Woolpack in Church Street, which is an excellent, non-foody,dog-friendly pub with no kids - great.

The Poacher, Cratfield

Visited this pub a few times whilst holidaying in Cratfield. Unpretentious, good beer and wine and food and lovely hosts, Roger and Margaret. Very relaxed place, allows dogs, popular with the locals and staff all friendly. Would recommend.

The White Horse Inn, Bodle Street Green

Popped in for lunch and a few drinks last week. Great food and excellent wine. Very welcoming people.

Brewers Arms, Herstmonceux

Found this pub whilst on holiday last week. Just been taken over by a lovely lady called Gaynor who made us and our dog very welcome. The beer and the wine were both very good. We didn't eat there but the food that we saw looked great. Good luck with the Brewers Arms.
