The Queen's Head, Dogmersfield
My Family and I went to the Queens head hoping for an evening meal two weeks ago and what a disappointing, terrible time we had that after still no service by 9pm! We just had to call it a day and leave!
The bar service for drinks was in a terrible mess, one guy trying to pour drinks at a snails pace whilst three other members of staff stood around fighting over tea towels to dry glasses whilst the customers simply waited at the bar. We waited for 30 mins at the bar before calling it a day in getting a drink, it was totally un-acceptable service.
The owner / manager was to be found in the garden, without a care in the world tending to some B-que, he either had no idea of the mess inside his bar or he simply wasnt that bothered!
The broken English waitress told us after a further half an hour that we needed to order our food at the bar (later according to the manager this wasnt the case!) when we did get to order (I had to go and get the menus and take the whole order up to the bar) we where informed that two of the main meals and one of the starters had run out! - By this time my patience had also run out so we left and went for a very late but rather lovely meal at a restaurant down the road (we should of gone there in the first place) and it seems that we werent the only ones as a couple we recognised from the Queens head had also left as the service was so terrible!!
I would never recommend this pub again which is a shame as it use to be very nice. They need some staff training, management / direction and some people who do actually speak English working in the bar etc.
