The Red Lion, Shepperton

I just dont get it....?? I have been going to the Red Lion since my uncle worked there 30yrs ago... The new landlord of eighteen months has bought a pub that had been left to go very slowly downhill!! He, namely Peter, is trying his best to re-furb the WHOLE building, unfortunately he doesn't have a money plant to shake to pay for this 'overnight transistion' hence it will take a bit longer!!! The pub does need some TLC, and Peter is trying his hardest to replace and restore this fantastically located pub!! Give him a break!!
A few 'undesireables' did try to sneak back in with the change over, and were given the benefit of the doubt - hence they have now gone again!!!
This is a charming, friendly and very charateristic pub it has improved immensely within the new owners arrival and when ALL the works are finished I'm sure it will be the best pub around again!!!
SMOKING IS PERMITTED UNTIL THE CHANGES IN THE LAW TAKE PLACE.
You cannot please evryone all of the time, but it is far better than the local 'chains' that serve BRAKE BROS packet meat and microwave veg!!! just try for yourself and see..... No matter what he does people will moan - that is life!! BUT the locals are FAB characters!!!
