Oh yes, yes, ... tried on the strength of previous reviews and was not disappointed.
Good range & quality of beer - we tried four ales all of them outstanding quality, all of them by small, independent micro-breweries. Plus, we didn't need to wait longer than a couple of minutes at the bar each time our glasses were empty. The bar staff were friendly & attentive, always on the lookout for a punter in need of serving.
The pub is understandably popular & we struggled to find a seat but found a great mix of friendly ale-heads, old & young, male & female. There was a real lively, warm feel to the place love the open fire! Weve been on the lookout for a pub like this and will have no hesitation in returning very soon if we can get a table to try out some of the food that we could smell as it regularly wafted past the bar!

Long overdue visit back to this little gem sampled many pints of Pale Ale which were perfect, a lovely combination of dry bitterness, very quaffable. Combined with the excellent food its easy to see why this pub was packed midweek. Almost perfect pub, thanks to the landlord and his trusty pub dog - how a pub should be run. 9.5 out of 10.
