The Three Horseshoes, Thursley

Went today. Service was incredibly slow and when the food finally came the portions were very small. We had lamb, which was tiny on a pile of mashed potatoes with a very few peas in a sort of cream and chive[?] sauce. My husband had the veal, which was mainly bone. I think it was very poor value for money in comparison with other pubs. The waitress asked us if we were happy and when we told her not really, she didn't know what to do. [Poor staff training]
We then waited ages for the desserts, which were a better size, but still pricy compared with other places. We were asked if we wanted the coffee after the desserts, but we said at the same time in view of the long waits. However they still arrived afterwards. They weren't really busy as there were a lot of empty tables, so I don't know how they cope when they are full.
I wouldn't say it was a total disaster and what there was of the food was nice. If they had made an effort to have vegetables as well it wouldn't have looked so bad. Anyway there are better pubs in the area, so we won't go back again.
