The Oakhill Tavern, Beckenham

I was looking for an occasional alternative to my usual local pub. I had a drink in The Oakhill shortly after its latest refurbishment and was pleased enough to return despite the wet counter and lack of beermats. However, on two recent visits there was a constant overpowering smell coming from the gents toilets of urinal tablets wafting all around the back lounge. Very off putting.

Great stout! Reasonably priced and an excellent accompanyment to their Beef & Guinness Pie. I hadn't realise they served food but was told it was only at the weekend - I wouldn't have known this as normally I pop in for a quiet one during the week when it's the perfect place for the after-work wind down.
