It's nice to hear that this pub is getting the recognition that it deserves. Having been a customer since 1989 (with the same landlord) I consider it a "club", rather than a "pub".
Paul offers the sort of welcome that you would like to get the first time that you walk into any pub, especially if you are on your own. Mornings stretch long into the afternoon and there is always something on offer to eat, even if it is one of Paul's famous sandwiches!
Those people who have offered an "average" review obviously haven't quite got the message!
