The Blue Anchor, Reigate

Hi, as an ex member of staff at the Blue Anchor and having read all the comments posted on a regular basis there are lots of views on this pub and so far only a few seem to be near the truth. Yes the pub has suffered under the amount of different managers and companies running it but lets be fair we are in a deep recession and that is affecting every business. You only have to walk along Reigate high street to see all the shops that are struggling to stay afloat. The BA was good 2/3 years ago when there was plenty of money around along with the rest of the pubs in town, sadly this company has missed the boat and they would do aswell to close it down for the amount of good it is doing. The current management have not got a clue, the atmosphere built up by the last people has gone and the Pilgrims trad beer that was excellent is like mud, they obviously have not had much cellar experience when it come to that. The BA should be a good food pub and NOT a sports and social club. Ask the people local to it, they want good traditional bitters, good food, and a comfortable place to sit and drink it in. This company are obviously the hard fast buck and get out quick type, they will not last long and by Christmas we will have someone else running the BA, hopefully someone who knows what they are doing.
