Wainwrights Inn, Great Langdale

Several beers to choose from - three Jennings plus four others of which I tried Kirby Lonsdale Stanley's and Hawkshead Bitter. Both were in reasonable condition, but I found it a bit strange that all four of the guest beers were 3.7% or 3.8% in strength - you would expect more variety. Food was ok but nothing special. Staff were friendly and service was good. It filled up quickly on the Friday night that we were there and you need to get there early to get a table if you are eating

The Britannia Inn, Elterwater

Wonderful pub. Friendly staff and great atmosphere in the small bar. Six or seven beers on - all well kept. Eden Gold and Legendary Langdale were particularly good. We had lunch once and enjoyed cumberland sausage rolls. Evening meals looked very good.

Sticklebarn, Great Langdale

Had lunch here twice during a week long stay in Chapel Stile. The smoked cheddar ploughman's was very good - plenty of cheese and nice quality bread. Six beers on - the Barngates Tag Lag and Keswick Thirst Session were both fine. Friendly staff and prompt service. Enjoyed sitting by the fire. A good experience
