The Howard Arms, Carlisle
Traveled down from Glasgow to watch England v. Algeria game away from negativity. The Howard Arms was just what we were looking for - friendly, relaxed, interesting pub, with a nice back garden. Ten minute walk from the train station, so no hassle getting our train back. Giving this pub a 9 rather than a 10 because a glass of the house white tasted a bit funny. I'm sure we could have said something to the friendly staff, but didn't want miss a minute of the game. Nice evening (except for the result) - highly recommended pub.
