The Candlemaker, Battersea

The Candlemakers visually is certainly a nice addition to the high street. The booths outside are useful for smokers and also I imagine a nice spot to soak up the market atmosphere on Saturdays.

The inside has some impressive artwork and a modern feel and seems to be attracting a younger crowd. There is a lot of bench seating which doesn't make for the most comfortable night but there are also some sofas and a booht if you are lucky to get there first.

Sadly I found that the staff were a little more concerned with messing around with other staff members or chatting to friends and I had to wait a long time at the bar to be served. They were also a little disinterested and un-engaging. But this is something that can be rectified and hopefully is just "teething trouble" for the new management to sort out.

Not bad.
