The Princess Alexandra, Crouch End

The Princess Alexandra was transformed in Autumn 2006. And what a transformation! It's still a 'local' pub, but rather than being the place you headed to when everywhere else has closed, it's now the best place in Crouch End to meet at the start of the evening (and you'll probably stay there).

The food is fabulous, and the menu changes regularly. There's a real fire, conservatory and garden.

Get there early on a Friday (live music) if you want a seat.

The Queens Hotel, Crouch End

I'm yet to eat in the dining room, but have had the bar food a few times. It's mostly good, but I was disappointed with a 'chicken caesar salad' that featured two shreds of chicken and some leaves, but no parmesan, croutons or dressing. Won't order that again. The staff are great though, and the pub itself is lovely.

Monkey Nuts, Crouch End

I've been here a few times and the service was poor even if it's really quiet. It's well worth going on a weekday morning when you get two breakfasts for the price of one though!
