The Preston Park Tavern, Brighton

Ate there this evening and cannot fault it. Very inviting builfing, attentive caring staff. The food was fantastic. Gastro pub for sure, but also bar area for drinkers. Hats off to the chef, he could see him checking / tasting food was going out spot on. Would recommend this to anyone and although �30 per head for two courses and a bottle of wine (two people), is worth every penny. Don't let the standards drop!

The Cleveland, Brighton

Well, this was going to be the place to eat tonight, based on the reviews below. No idea what's happened, guessing the amazing caring chef is no longer there. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. We went somewhere else and wondered up here for a beer. Old smelly stuffy place with 5 people in on a Saturday night. Heart FM on the stereo. Toilets are ok, toilet roll holder in the mens was all open and hanging down. Whole place on its last legs, which based on reviews is v sad. Anyway, stayed for one and left quickly.
