The Lamplighter, St Helier
Very highly recommend by myself, you always get a perfect warm welcome, more or less on entry into the pub. The governor is usually there to add to that welcome. The bar staff are on the ball with all the draught beers and ales. A damn good selection of whiskey from single malt to aged whiskey. Some seventy different varieties I believe, at very good prices. Also tv if required with sky sports etc.
The food is unbelievable, they know how to cook a nice piece of ribeye to perfection and they do a lovely Sunday roast. It isn't frozen pub grub like you get from the usual big chains, no microwave job here, all cooked fresh including the veg.
You can't afford to miss it, if you want a proper English pub then that is the place to go. My opinion FIVE STAR PLUS
