From the owner, we need to respond to a couple of malicious postings on this page.

jj5000, your drunken abusive behaviour got you and your mate barred. We do not tolerate it. Using this site in the way you have further lowers our opinion of you both. Keep away.

bucksboy1990, you are obviously local and by looking at your posting history you have some sort of agenda. Why not introduce yourself? Why post twice? While we do have our quiet times (and it is not for the lack of work or investment in the pub on our part and the 'previous bird's') we do get very busy at other times. Both chaps behind the bar are known for witty and charasmatic personalities. Regarding the TV, we use it for Rugby and Football, but not Lady Gaga videos. I suspect from your username and comments that you have recently (or perhaps not quite) reached drinking age. Try us again in 10-20 years and you will love it.

To other posters, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and post your suggestions. Scridian, we have responded to your suggestion of more local beers. This weekend we have on 10 real ales and 2 cask ciders. Local brewers Tring, Chilterns and Vale are all represented as are Butcombes, Adnams, Youngs and Hydes from further afield . BTW, the IPA is actually a Tring beer that they let us brand as Ivinghoe Pale Ale.

It is now 12 months since we purchased and reopened the Rose and Crown. We have invested a lot of time and money and worked extremely hard to try and make this a viable community facility, one of very few community-serving businesses left in the lovely village of Ivinghoe. We want to keep it that way but the jj5000 and bucksboy1990's of this world make it that much harder. Thankfully they are a minority.
