The Cat And Canary, Canary Wharf

Cool bar for the Docklands compared to its other horrible bars. Dart board , good screens for all sports. Good Guinness and selection of booze.

Cant fault it.. Also does nice grub. Like a traditional local. Well worth a visit.

This place COULD be a really good spot if it had some decent management and another bar built in the other corner or just simply just hired some capable bar staff.

The wait times ive experienced in this bar are UNBELIEVABLE , sometimes over half hour!!. Ive stopped going to this bar due to this. I do like the layout of the place and the music is good sometimes on Fridays when they have a decent house DJ on. But the service times are the worst ive ever experienced and time is at a premium on Friday nights so no thanks guys!. If you dont like ridiculous Q'ing time for drinks - simple AVOID.

The Gable, Moorgate

oh my god.. Further to my earlier review i am compelled to write about another visit to this establishment.

Decided to give it another chance with one of the lads from work on the night when Andy Murray was playing in Wimbledon. Incident 1 Got to the bar - No Guinness. Ok ill have a Starabraum.
Specifically went to have some of their overpriced food. Ordered a steak burger, guy came out 10 minutes later, we have no chips, potatoes or Burgers left. This is 6.30 pm. I asked had they anything to eat. Yes a pizza he said. I had already paid for my burger but he insisted on me paying the extra 3 pounds or so for my replacement order which i didnt even want. The least they could have done was offer it free. When the Pizza came out it was rank and bland. And way oversized for one. It was designed as a share for 4. So had no extras or nothing which the moron who served me failed to point out. I would go as far to say the Gable is in the top 3 or 2 of the worst bars ive ever been in.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Try the much better Telegraph across the road.
