Norfolk Arms, Glossop

Very comfortable clean pub. Food is pretty standard pub fare. The beer is generally very good, but it is Holts, so some would think it has a bit of an acquired taste. They have the Holts Mild on which is quite unusual, the problem is that it doesn't sell to well so unless the barrel has just been put on it's probably not at it's best. Definitely worth a try though.

The Globe Hotel, Glossop

I'm not a vegetarian, but a friend told me the food was good here. It's not! It's cheap as is the beer but neither are good. I tried the Chickpea & Spinach Curry, nothing like Indian veggie stuff I've had in the past. This was very oily, in a sauce probably out of a can and had never seen fresh spinach. Over seasoned, as was the greasy rice pretty hopeless attempt at a veggie curry. The beer was even worse, thin, tasteless, no malty body or characteristic hop taste a disgrace to call it "real ale" I suspect, like the curry it was made out of a can, really awful.
