The Cricketers, Hornchurch

Further to last year's comments. Owners have painted everything white and removed the net curtains. It looks a little sterile now but an improvement none the less. The Empty bar I mentioned has been turned into a very nice (But expensive) wine bar called Oliver's. Rosie and Lin are still there (but for some strange reason Lin wants to be known as Lynn). However the Bouncers - Sean and Kevin - do not seem to be there anymore. Music and Atmosphere on Fridays and Saturdays as good as ever and Thursdays are becoming popular again. Visit on a Thursday to catch Rosie and Lin (AKA Lynn) in their best Banter mode.

The Cricketers, Hornchurch

The Cricketers is a basic almost spit and sawdust pub and quite dismal. Although it seems quite small you will find that there is a second bar that is hardly ever used, even when the used side is unbearably crammed. Usually have the bigger footie matches on large screens. Prices are middling for the area. The usual Barmaids give good natured Banta, (Rosie and Lin in particular) and the bouncers look like they bite the heads of small children but are in fact very approachable and are part of the overall charm of the place. But the best thing about the Cricketers is the atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights boosted by the live music. There is music on a Thursday night as well but for some reason the punters no longer show in large numbers. The music is generally 70�s and 80�s with some modern stuff. Definitely an older person�s scene (30-50 something).
