The George Hotel, Castleton

Visited castleton from America with my wife. We spent 2 weeks in London and decided to visit a different part of England. We looked online and saw castleton. we decided to book 1 week at The George. When we arrived we were welcomed by the staff. We received our room key and got a tour by one of the staff members named kaylie. she was kind and made us feel welcomed. When we opened the door to our room (room 4) we were amazed! the room was incredibly large, spacious, and clean as can be. After unpacking we planned to visit all the pubs. After going downstairs to have a quick drink we enjoyed it to much too leave. we spent the whole day here having a laugh with the landlord and locals. One of the staff members was quizzing some friends on his break and he gladly let us join in we enjoyed our first day beyond expectations. The next day we went around the village visiting the other pubs they were all disappointing bad ale,bad service, and not very warm or cozy.our third day was spent seeing all the caverns and sights castleton has to offer ( highly recommend blue John mine). We spent the rest of our time at the George along with sightseeing. I have no complaints and neither did my wife( that's a first) castleton is a great place to visit. All the caverns and mines which castleton is know for. If the George keeps it up it will be more popular than the caverns itself.
