The Bull, Arborfield

The Bull is a fantastic food pub and it is great to get such good food that is obviously home-made. It has one of the most extensive pub food menu's in the local area and we are really spoilt for choice whenever we go there. In addition to that they have a weekly specials menu just to add to the choice!

My wife and I try to eat here at least once a week and we always get a friendly and welcoming reception.

No children are allowed inside the pub so whenever we go on a Sunday afternoon it is an all adult affair which is quite welcome with other pubs feeling like a creche sometimes! I have seen families in the summer months using the lovely garden and we have brought friends with young kids to enjoy the garden on occassion during the summer.

It is definitely our pub of choice to bring friends to for evening meals and/or Sunday lunch. If there is a large group of more than about 4 people then I would recommend booking in advance as it is very popular, particularly on a Sunday.

The Sunday Roasts are excellent as they fill the plate up with food with loads of home-made gravy. A lot of other pubs don't like to give you a lot when it comes to a Sunday Roast so its refreshing that they go against the grain and pile the plate up, and there is a smaller option for lighter appetites.

Overall i simply cannot recommend The Bull enough as one of the best home-made food pubs in the Wokingham and Reading area.
