The Fire Station, Waterloo

I visited this pub/restaurant yesterday and was more than slightly depressed when I left. It has always been one of my favourite places to go for lunch and a drink on a Sunday afternoon; the food was delicious, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. I held my 40th birthday party for 50 people there in June and the staff couldn't have been more helpful; even my 80 year old parents liked it! I now find that the Fire Station has been bought by the Pitcher and Piano chain; the food is over-priced and tasteless, the atmosphere is gone, and we had to have several goes before we could order drinks that they actually had in stock. The one waitress on duty was very helpful but that's the best that I can say for it.
