The Tuckers Arms, Axminster

Excellent friendly local pub. Interesting and varied menu and the quality and presentation of the food has improved fantastically over the last 12 months and represents very good value for money. The Chef really came into his own once he put in a good kitchen. Staff are always helpful and attentive. Good range of local beers kept well and served properly with an impressive selection of wines. There are always plenty of locals in the pub either enjoying a drink, playing skittles or eating and this generates a really good, busy atmosphere. This is a village pub doing the job of catering for the needs of locals and visitors equally, to a high standard and with a friendly welcoming manner. Their themed menus for St. George's Day, St. Patrick's etc are not to be missed and they do a great Christmas dinner party menu and brilliant buffets.
I can't believe pipster101 is talking about the same Tuckers Arms, but if he is he must be a very hard person to please. They will always fit you in if they can but if it is a special occasion it's only sensible to book a table in advance.
